FIELD SUPERINTENDENT – SYSTEM INSTALLATIONS
SUMMARY
This individual is responsible for overseeing the field execution of work for assigned construction projects. Must be able to skillfully operate construction equipment daily and lead crew through successful installation project. Provides field crew direction on projects and enforces company and project policies, maintains customer interface, and ensures project is executed in accordance with contract documents, budget, and schedule.
All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, mission, vision and values of Onsite Wastewater Services.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
General
• Autonomy & Decision-Making: Expected to function independently in coordination with the Operations Manager, adapting plans and priorities as needed. Makes many decisions, provides guidance to field crew, consults with superiors as needed.
• Schedules work and manages the project schedules and resources for assigned projects.
• Responsible for the interpretation of the construction drawings and specifications related to the Project.
• Coordinate all Project related activities, both internal and external, working with other trades, crews, and Subcontractors.
• In charge of the entire production cycle of system installation projects.
• Plan construction activities around project and company requirements including projects that require travel.
• Familiar with contractual requirements such as change management and notice provisions.
• Ensures quality assurance and adherence to plans, specifications and regulations.
• Manage site safety hazards and controls.
• Review, analyze, and resolve field problems, discrepancies, and interferences with A/E, owner, and general contractor.
• Able to establish grade and working lines and layout of projects.
• Maintain as built drawings for assigned projects.
• Responsible for completion of project on time and within budget.
• Enter weekly time for themselves and ensure crew time entry accuracy for payroll administration.
• Provide daily project log to track workforce staffing and work activities.
• Plan and direct all quality control activities and requirements.
• Plan, direct and supervise all direct reports to be in compliance with OSWW’s Handbook, SCDHEC regulations, and OSHA requirements.
• Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures.
• Manage and uphold daily maintenance of fleet vehicles and construction equipment, coordinates repairs and maintenance with Operations Manager.
• Mentor and train other OSWW employees
• Maintains a Client First Attitude
• Other duties and tasks as assigned by Operations Manager or Executive Management
Supervisory
• The Field Superintendent will lead and directly supervise the System Installation crew and assigned Subcontractors.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills and ability required.
Education/Technical Skills and Experience
• 10+ Yrs of Utility, Septic System, Site Work or Related Construction Experience
• Ability to manage direct reports
• Basic computer skills and understanding of electronic construction document platforms
• Highly Skilled and Experienced at operating light construction equipment (excavators and skid steers). Able to operate equipment on daily basis to support production.
• OSHA 30 Training (Preferred)
• First Aid\CPR (Preferred)
• Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to read and understand construction documents, regulations, specifications, and manufacturers installation requirements.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends if required by project schedule.
• Ability to lead and communicate well with peers and crew
Physical Requirements
• Must have the ability to climb heights, ladders, and scaffolding and lift up-to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to walk jobsites extensively and navigate through construction area(s).
• Must be able to proficiently operate equipment and ability to effectively use small tools as required.
Requirements for all applicants
• Valid South Carolina Driver’s License and own transportation.
• CDL (Commercial Drivers License) a plus
• Must be able to pass criminal background and driving record check
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening

OPERATIONS MANAGER – SYSTEM INSTALLATIONS & MAINTENANCE
SUMMARY
This individual is responsible for overseeing the execution of work for assigned construction and O&M projects. Provides overall technical direction on projects and enforces company and project policies, maintains customer interface, and ensures project is executed in accordance with contract documents, budget, and schedule.
All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, mission, vision and values of Onsite Wastewater Services.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

• Familiar with contractual requirements such as change management and notice provisions.
• Provide quality assurance reviews and incorporate quality control inspections.
• Manage site safety hazards and controls.
• Provide technical assistance as necessary; recommending construction methods and equipment to complete work.
• Review, analyze, and resolve field problems, discrepancies, and interferences with A/E, owner, and general contractor.
• Provide interpretation of plans, details, and specifications for field crews, subcontractors and vendors. Able to establish grade and working lines and layout of projects ahead of field crews.
• Responsible for reviewing up to date plans/drawings for submittals as it applies to the work. Must keep as built drawings up to date.
• Act as liaison with clients, A/E and Owner to facilitate construction activities.
• Responsible for completion of project on time and within budget.
• Conduct pre-construction project meetings with Owners, A/E and fields crews and responsible for recording and distributing agendas and minutes for meetings.
• Manage crew as required and act as foreman if crew/project size dictates.
• Enter weekly time for themselves and ensure crews time entry accuracy for payroll administration.
• Provide daily project log to track workforce staffing and work activities.
• Plan and direct all quality control activities and requirements.
• Plan, direct and supervise all workers to be in compliance with OSWW’s Handbook, SCDHEC regulations, and OSHA requirements.
• Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures.
• Oversee maintenance of fleet vehicles and construction equipment.
• Develop project estimates and budgets
• Gains understanding of the project pursuit process and methodology.
• Participates with the field operations leadership and the project team to put together a project pre plan; implements, monitors and adjusts as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
• Mentor and train other OSWW employees
• Maintains a Client First Attitude
• Other duties and tasks as assigned by Project Manager or Executive Management
Supervisory
• The Operations Manager will lead System Installation and Maintenance Division employees and directly supervise all OSWW Foremen, Maintenance Technicians and Subcontractors.
